Play-dough is a powerful learning tool for children above 1 year to develop and strengthen the skills they need at age 3, not something to begin with on turning 3 years.

But, unfortunately a lot of marketed playdough boxes come with a 3year+ sign. Reason? For its presence of multiple stabilizers and additives making it unsafe if children are mouthing and exploring.

So, it's important to read product labels before buying any toy for our little ones. That accounts for checking for warnings and age recommendations and understanding that the term “Non-toxic” needs to be explicitly defined. Commercial Playdough is sold way cheaper, but it doesn’t assure durability. It’s a waste once dried, is a strategy making repurchases a compulsion.
